I have been through a lot in life too, which helps me to be able to empathize with situations, thoughts and feelings that we have. Sometimes, it's not easy just being human.

i can't control my thoughts and keep calm because i have a low self esteem. it's hard to control yourself when you don't believe you're good.
You cannot control your thoughts because you attempt to control your thoughts.keeping calm is not about controlling or restraining oneself but about observing the thoughts maybe eventually smiling at them one day like one would the antics of a small child after realising that you are not your thoughts at all.loosen the need to control and just observe, don't label them, dot get stirred up by them.as a 16 year old girl I'm pretty moody so I've realised that just letting them drift by like clouds will eventually put a stopper on that silly ol' brain box of yours! :)

It sounds like you are going through a tough time at the moment, it makes sense that you would feel that way.
It may be to due to the sheer amount of information your brain is trying to process. Take a step back and try your best to organize and prioritize your responsibilities to avoid being overwhelmed. Are you also making time for yourself? taking on all of your responsibilities without meeting your own needs for relaxation can lead to great anxiety
to control yourself, you got to believe you can! and is also something not easy, so it takes a while.
If you feel anxious or that your thoughts cannot be kept calm, try breathing exercises or meditate. Music and a calming environment can help these two.

You might feel like you can't control yourself right now, because you can't seem to cope with your emotions and probably the anxiety that they trigger, but it is possible to have some control over it again. You need to know what triggers it, what kind of thoughts, it's very important. And if you have a panic attack use it to learn your coping techniques. Maybe taking full deep breaths, walking around for a little bit. Picture a thing you like and keep adding detail to it so your mind focuses entirely on that one thought.

Your heart could be racing. Whenever I have trouble controlling my thoughts it is normally because my heart rate is very high. To lower my heart rate I do some deep breathing exercises. After my heart rate is back to normal I can think clearly.
It takes practice to be able to fully control your thoughts and keep calm. Sometimes, speaking to a professional can help you with this.
I think that it is all a matter or training. The more you succeed in calming and controlling your thoughts, the better you will get. It might be agonising to not have the feeling to succeed but it will happen!

You may be suffering from anxiety. To calm down, try meditation, hypnosis, or other similar things.
You're overthinking or too stressed. Take a nice breather and plan / map out your thoughts to organize them.
