It sounds like you have what is called alcohol dependency, which is when a person experiences both tolerance and withdrawal symptoms from not using a substance. This is different from abuse and addiction, but certainly an indication that you may want to consider seeking professional help, if your desire is to stop drinking altogether.

I am wondering what it is you are feeling before you go out into the world and before you have a drink

Sounds to me there is a fear around the day to day activities. When you must drink to deal with these issues, it's time to think of why and what you're options are and what changes could be made, to make it easier for you.

Drinking is a comfort, and for many people it eases stress. Drinking is often framed as a thing you do, and rarely seen as a way to blow off steam. There are probably underlying issues that contribute to this feeling, and it is important to address them instead of covering them up with pleasures that lead to destructive habits.

Here's a question: do you often feel anxious before normal day activities? Alcohol is one of the best anti-anxiety drugs there is, because it truly does reduce our inhibitions and our anxieties. It is possible that you might feel the need to drink in order to relieve the anxiety that comes with daily life.

Well, staying hydrated is a very important part of life...water, juices, and milk are great! Eight cups a day, of water; the most known amount, required.
