The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in West Bend, WI, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We focus on providing comprehensive organic food system education, ensuring that our Fellowship is accessible by not charging tuition. Our hands-on program empowers selected Fellows through a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they engage in growing and distributing diverse crops, leading innovative health education sessions, and maintaining community gardens. Furthermore, they promote food and ecological literacy within educational settings, support local farmers markets, and help develop vital distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. After completing their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge directly in the community. Interested applicants should complete their application by March each year for the experience typically running from May to October.
