Located in Sussex, WI, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. This innovative program, run by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, empowers selected Fellows through intensive training at our Allegheny Farm, where they learn about organic farming, ecological literacy, and community engagement. Participants receive hands-on experience growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating educational sessions in healthcare, maintaining school gardens, and supporting farmers markets. We believe in making this fellowship accessible, which is why there is no tuition fee. After completing a transformative six-month residency, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge and skills to improve food access and community health. Applications are welcomed until March, with program activities running from May to October.
