The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sturgeon Bay, WI, nurtures passionate individuals to become advocates and educators in creating a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic fairness. This innovative program, which does not require tuition to ensure accessibility, offers a unique six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning about organic food systems. Participants collaborate with community partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, lead educational initiatives in health care, manage school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in local schools. Additionally, they play a vital role in enhancing local farmers markets, improving access to healthy foods, and supporting community food coalition efforts. After their foundational training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, applying their skills alongside regional nonprofit organizations to foster sustainable food practices.
