At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sparta, WI, we are dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food advocacy. Our program empowers Fellows through a comprehensive, hands-on education in organic food systems, emphasizing the importance of social, environmental, and economic justice. We believe that access to quality education should be available to everyone, which is why we do not charge tuition for our Fellowship. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in experiential learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain practical skills in growing and distributing diverse crops, leading community gardens, promoting food and ecological literacy, and supporting local farmers' markets. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods and encourage community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with opportunities to start in May.
