The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Sheboygan, WI, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through a no-cost, accessible training program, we empower Fellows with comprehensive organic food system education while fostering hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Our dynamic Fellowship engages participants in vital initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy within local schools. Additionally, Fellows play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods through community food coalitions, while also mentoring future cohorts. The Fellowship includes a six-month immersive experiential study followed by a hands-on Community Action Year, allowing participants to partner with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and make a tangible impact.
