The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Rhinelander, WI, is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system through education and community engagement. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program empowers selected Fellows to become effective advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. Without charging tuition, we prioritize accessibility, allowing Fellows to engage in a hands-on, six-month experiential residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus. During their journey, they gain knowledge in organic farming, engage in community initiatives like maintaining school gardens, support farmers' markets, and promote food literacy in educational settings. Following their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their training, mentor future cohorts, and help expand access to healthy foods. We invite you to apply by March each year to become part of this transformative experience from May to October.
