The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Racine, WI, is dedicated to cultivating a sustainable and equitable food system through education and community engagement. This program empowers Fellows to become knowledgeable advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice in food production and distribution. By sponsoring hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, we ensure access to organic food system education without tuition barriers. Participants will engage in vital activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, facilitating health-focused educational sessions, and supporting local farmers' markets. Throughout the six-month immersive experience, Fellows will also learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational institutions and take part in community initiatives aimed at enhancing access to healthy foods. Our commitment extends beyond individual growth, as selected Fellows will mentor the next cohort, amplifying their impact on the community. Applications are welcome until March each year, with the transformative experience typically running from May to October.
