The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in New Richmond, WI, empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for a food system that is just, sustainable, and accessible to all. Through a hands-on, experiential program, selected Fellows embark on a six-month journey at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where they gain comprehensive training in organic food systems and community engagement. This fellowship, offered at no cost to participants, facilitates the growth and distribution of diverse crops, promotes food and ecological literacy in schools, and fosters partnerships with local organizations to enhance food access. In addition to on-farm training, fellows spend a Community Action Year implementing their learning through innovative projects like supporting farmer’s markets, managing community gardens, and mentoring future cohorts. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
