This transformative program provides comprehensive organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, without charging tuition to ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on training over six months, gaining practical experience in growing diversified crops, managing community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in local schools. During their Community Action Year, selected Fellows collaborate with nonprofit organizations to expand access to healthy food, support farmer's markets, conduct educational health sessions, and mentor future leaders in sustainable agriculture.
