She has had the privilege of studying family systems under the renowned Monica McGoldrick MSW and learned EMDR directly from Dr. Francine Shapiro in 1990. With her role as a senior facilitator at the EMDR Institute and experience as a consultant for therapists in training, Leah brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice. She skillfully implements family systems strategies, using tools such as the genogram while emphasizing the significance of EMDR, mindfulness, and spirituality. With four children as her personal teachers, Leah understands the complexities of autism, dyslexia, and adoption, which deeply informs her practice. Her partnership with Dr. John Schaut, a master EMDR practitioner serving combat veterans, enriches her family-oriented approach, acknowledging the profound impact of family dynamics on individual identity.
