The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Janesville, WI, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who are passionate about building a food system that is accessible, equitable, and sustainable. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows receive comprehensive education in organic farming practices, community engagement, and food justice initiatives, all at no cost to enhance accessibility. This impactful program empowers Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops, facilitate educational sessions in innovative health approaches, manage school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. By collaborating with local non-profits, Fellows spend six months immersed in experiential learning, followed by a Community Action Year where they implement their skills to strengthen community food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
