The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Elkhorn, WI, is dedicated to empowering individuals to champion a food system that upholds social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, offers comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring advocates. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, working to diversify crops on market-style farms, facilitating innovative health education sessions, and supporting local community gardens. They also help integrate food and ecological literacy into educational initiatives, bolster farmers markets, and develop effective distribution channels for healthy food access. Over a six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, they will immerse themselves in practical learning, which is followed by a Community Action Year, during which Fellows collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills.
