Desiree Turner is a compassionate Counselor with an MEd and LMHC, who graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2005. She specializes in helping clients understand and heal attachment issues, process trauma, and resolve parenting difficulties, as well as work/life conflicts. Desiree creates a safe space for individuals to express the stresses and challenges they face. While she enjoys working with clients of all ages, her passion particularly lies in supporting children under the age of 18. She also provides valuable support for parents, fostering family regulation through enhanced understanding and communication among family members. Using both directive and non-directive play therapy techniques, Desiree incorporates Alderian and filial therapy to effectively assist with parenting concerns. For adults and adolescents, she offers the sand tray method to help navigate feelings of fear, unmet needs, and aspirations. Her therapeutic techniques are informed by Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Mindfulness approaches, allowing her to cater to the diverse needs of children, adults, and families in her Tacoma, Port Orchard, and Bremerton offices.
