The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Oak Harbor, WA, is dedicated to cultivating advocates and educators for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a hands-on, experiential learning model, selected Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic food systems, without the barrier of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring leaders. Our transformative program empowers participants to engage with diverse initiatives, from growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm to integrating food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, Fellows play crucial roles in supporting farmers markets and increasing access to healthy foods within their communities. Over six months of immersive learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to implement innovative solutions and mentor future cohorts. Applications are accepted until March each year, with opportunities to start their journey from May through October.
