The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hoquiam, WA is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders committed to crafting a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. This fellowship provides comprehensive organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring fellows. Participants engage in hands-on training, cultivating diverse crops on market-style farms, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. They actively contribute to maintaining community and school gardens, enhancing food and ecological literacy in educational settings, and promoting local farmers’ markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. Selected fellows spend six transformative months at our farm campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their skills and advocacy in real-world settings, empowering communities to improve access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March for the fellowship experience that typically runs from May to October each year.
