I am Taylor Shay, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Virginia Board of Counseling Certified Supervisor. With over 16 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults through individual, family, couples, and group counseling. My journey has taken me through various clinical environments, including home-based services, inpatient and outpatient dual diagnosis programs, and psychiatric hospital settings. For the past 9 years, I've held the roles of clinical director and supervisor, where I've maintained a steadfast commitment to providing direct client care. My work has involved guiding clients through challenges like depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and self-esteem issues, as well as navigating substance abuse, trauma, eating disorders, educational and vocational struggles, and relationship dynamics such as divorce, infidelity, and domestic violence. I am especially passionate about helping couples and families improve their communication—both verbal and non-verbal—achieve emotional regulation, and address complex relational issues. Together, we can create a supportive space to foster understanding and healing.
