The Allegheny Mountain Institute's Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ruther Glen, VA, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program provides comprehensive education in organic farming, promoting accessibility without tuition fees. Through hands-on experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus and impactful work during a Community Action Year, selected Fellows engage in vital activities such as growing diversified crops, implementing health-centered educational sessions, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools. They also actively support local farmers markets and help develop vital distribution channels to improve access to healthy foods. With a commitment to social, environmental, and economic justice, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in food advocacy and sustainable agriculture.
