At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Purcellville, VA, we empower passionate individuals to become advocates for a fair and sustainable food system through hands-on education and training. Our program focuses on creating socially, environmentally, and economically just food practices, providing selected Fellows with a unique six-month experiential learning opportunity at the Allegheny Farm. Without tuition costs, we promote accessibility, enabling participants to engage in diverse activities such as organic farming, community garden maintenance, and educational outreach aimed at enhancing food and ecological literacy. After their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to apply their knowledge in innovative ways, helping to increase access to healthy foods and support community food initiatives.
