The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Luray, VA, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, equips passionate individuals with the skills to advocate for equitable, sustainable food systems. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on training that focuses on organic food system education and real-world applications. Participants engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, teaching food and ecological literacy in schools, maintaining community gardens, and supporting local farmers markets. We believe in making this transformative opportunity accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for our Fellowship. Over the course of six months at our picturesque Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows immerse themselves in practical experiences before embarking on a Community Action Year, where they implement their learning alongside non-profit partners in the region. Applications for this impactful program are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
