Dr. D. Robin Gerhart, a distinguished psychologist with a PhD, brings over 40 years of experience in the field of mental health. Having graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1988, Dr. Gerhart has honed a deep understanding of the therapeutic process, emphasizing the importance of a trusting therapy relationship. Their mission is to assist individuals, particularly adults and elders, in not only addressing immediate emotional challenges, such as depression and trauma-related issues, but also in uncovering the interpersonal blind spots that contribute to these struggles. By employing a comprehensive approach that integrates trauma-focused therapy, attachment-based practices, EMDR, psychodynamic principles, and relational modalities, Dr. Gerhart is dedicated to fostering effective, long-term solutions for a more fulfilling life. With extensive postdoctoral advanced psychotherapy training, Dr. Gerhart has also been active in training and educating other therapists, earning recognition from the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology since 2007. Their leadership roles include serving as past president of the D.C. Division 39 chapter of the American Psychological Association and being a past fellow of the International Psychotherapy Institute.
