The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in Colonial Heights, VA, is dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of low-income pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, WIC offers vital food assistance through nutritious supplemental foods like cheese, eggs, beans, milk, and fresh fruits and vegetables, while also providing essential nutrition education and breastfeeding support. Our caring team conducts personalized and group counseling sessions to encourage healthy eating habits and successful pregnancy outcomes, following U.S.D.A. guidelines. We also connect participants with other health services, ensuring comprehensive support for families. To be eligible, parents or guardians of children under five years old, as well as low-income pregnant or breastfeeding women, are encouraged to apply. It’s important to bring proof of income, identification, residency, and, if applicable, proof of pregnancy to your appointment.
