Amy Hereford is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, holding an LCSW and a Certificate from AEDP since 2018. She has a passion for supporting individuals who seek more from their lives and are on a journey to discover that deeper sense of fulfillment. With a compassionate approach, Amy helps her clients explore how past relationships shape their current perceptions of the world, guiding them toward a brighter, more joyful existence. She believes in the healing power of sharing pain and sorrow, understanding the impact of emotions on thoughts, and embracing our shared humanity. Amy works with families, couples, and individuals, facilitating a path toward a more reflective life and stronger relationships. Her educational background includes a degree from UVA and an MSW from VCU. Her experience at the Mary Ainsworth Attachment Center enriches her practice, particularly with individuals and families affected by early trauma, abuse, and neglect. Additionally, Amy provides valuable support to adoptive parents, helping them navigate the parenting of children who have faced adverse early childhood experiences. Recognizing that each person’s life tells a unique narrative, she is committed to assisting her clients in uncovering and understanding their stories, especially during life transitions such as the birth of a child, marital challenges, divorce, loss of a partner, aging, and the empty nest phase.
