At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bassett, VA, we are dedicated to sponsoring, training, and empowering individuals who aspire to advocate for a just food system that supports social, environmental, and economic equity. Our Fellowship offers a tuition-free education in organic food systems, ensuring accessibility for all. Over the course of six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain practical experience in growing and distributing diversified crops, conducting innovative health education, and maintaining community and school gardens. Additionally, our Fellows work to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational activities, support local farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through tailored distribution channels. After their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March for an enriching experience that runs from May to October, as we strive together to cultivate a sustainable and equitable food future.
