Kate McCauley, a Clinical Social Worker and Therapist with over 30 years of experience, believes that the journey of therapy is an act of courage. She invites clients to open up and explore areas of their lives that aren't working, fostering a safe environment to understand these challenges and consider options for change. Specializing in trauma-focused therapy, couples counseling, and family systems therapy, Kate works primarily with older teens and adults. She has a genuine passion for helping parents navigate their relationships with their teenage children. In her career, she has supported survivors of violence and abuse and has a committed focus on those who have experienced trauma, having notably testified before Congress regarding sexual harassment and assault in the military two decades ago. Additionally, Kate shares her expertise as an educator, having taught in the Psychology Department at Marymount University from 1994 to 2017, and currently instructing a course called Relationship Health at George Mason University.
