John Vymetal-Taylor is a seasoned licensed professional counselor with over 30 years of experience working with adults, children, and adolescents from diverse countries and backgrounds. He has dedicated his career to assisting clients in overcoming a variety of life challenges, including depression, substance abuse, grief and loss, and recovery from sexual and physical abuse. As a licensed professional counselor in both Virginia and Wisconsin, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Assistant in Virginia, he embodies a commitment to professional excellence. After earning his Master’s degree from San Diego State University, where he focused on multiculturalism and social justice in counseling, John employs his exceptional skills in listening, dialogue, and exploration. He empowers clients to gain new insights into their experiences, issues, and choices. With an open-minded approach, he recognizes that many obstacles arise from our own thoughts and judgments. John diligently works to guide individuals through these challenges with care, understanding, and honest reflection.
