The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in South Jordan, UT, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through a unique six-month experiential program, selected Fellows receive comprehensive education on organic farming while living at the scenic Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. This fellowship prioritizes accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that a diverse group of participants can engage with hands-on learning about food systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. Fellows engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, developing community gardens, teaching food literacy in schools, and supporting farmers markets and local food initiatives. Following this immersive training, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their knowledge and foster positive change in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with fellowships typically commencing in May.
