Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Wylie, Texas, is dedicated to helping veterans seamlessly transition back into civilian life through the therapeutic benefits of agriculture. Founded by two veterans of the Iraq War, F.A.R.M. offers a nurturing farm environment where individuals facing challenges such as homelessness, suicidal thoughts, or substance dependency can find community and purpose. Our hands-on program invites veterans to engage in farming tasks, care for animals, and work together, fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging. While we currently build new farm locations, we maintain an open-door policy for veterans who wish to participate in our events and services. We provide a structured internship program for those interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, along with mentoring opportunities and potential stipends. While we do not offer detox services, we are committed to connecting veterans with necessary treatment resources. Participants who complete our program receive certificates that contribute toward farming experience requirements and may also qualify for trainer positions at our urban farm or with partnering farms. F.A.R.M. believes that every veteran deserves the opportunity to cultivate their future and thrive in their post-military journey.
