Mikayla Williams is a licensed professional counselor with a warm and compassionate approach to therapy. She understands that coming to counseling can be an intimidating experience. Many individuals struggle with vulnerability and the uncertainty of how a new therapist will respond to their stories. Mikayla is committed to meeting clients where they are, guiding them gently along their journey at their own pace. Passionate about holistic and mindfulness-based mental health counseling, she specializes in supporting teens, couples, and adults through challenging issues such as trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, grief, anxiety, depression, codependency, self-esteem, identity formation, self-harming behaviors, relationship dynamics, and parenting challenges. Mikayla is trained in various therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and anxiety, as well as Sandtray therapy, which utilizes non-verbal expression for deeper emotional processing. She also employs Gottman methods to enhance communication within couples. Mikayla’s goal is to cultivate a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can freely express their thoughts and emotions. She encourages clients to explore and overcome mistaken beliefs, core fears, and shame, empowering them to face their challenges with renewed courage and confidence.
