Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to supporting veterans in their transition to civilian life through meaningful agricultural work in The Colony, TX. Founded by two Iraq War veterans who experienced the healing power of farming, F.A.R.M. offers a nurturing peer-to-peer environment where veterans can cultivate vegetables, raise livestock, and connect deeply with the land and each other. Our programs particularly focus on those facing challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency, helping them find renewed purpose and community. With opportunities including internships that provide stipends of $500 to $1,000, mentorship, and shared housing, we aim to equip veterans with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in agriculture. While our current internship applications are on hold as we expand our farm locations, we encourage veterans to reach out for updates. Participation is open to all who have served, and we are committed to supporting veterans in overcoming obstacles, coordinating with the VA for treatment resources if needed. Completing our programs will provide valuable farm experience, a completion certificate, and pathways to full-time roles at our urban farm or partnering locations, along with essential resources for managing a successful agricultural career.
