Kozue Shibazaki

Dr. Kozue Shibazaki is a highly experienced psychologist with a PhD and over 14 years of dedication as the director and staff psychologist at the Counseling Service of the University of Texas Health Science Center. She has worked extensively with individuals facing a broad spectrum of issues, including depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. Dr. Shibazaki understands that the choice to enter psychotherapy is a courageous step that can lead to profound positive changes in one's life. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches, she expertly tailors her therapeutic interventions to align with the unique needs of her clients. Central to her practice is the establishment of a strong therapeutic relationship built on respect and trust, allowing for a supportive and safe environment to address distressing issues. Dr. Shibazaki believes that confronting adversity can serve as a powerful catalyst for significant life transformations. In addition to her clinical work, she contributes to the academic community as an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she is actively involved in training emerging psychiatry and psychology residents.
