Becky Powers

Becky Powers is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University, as well as certifications as a National Board Certified Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. With a rich background in public education, spanning a decade as a teacher and over nine years as a school counselor, Becky has successfully fostered growth in individuals and families alike. She understands that childhood experiences shape who we become and how we face challenges as adults, prompting her to connect with each client as a whole person. Her passion lies in uncovering each client's unique history to reveal the tools they already possess for reshaping their future. Becky creates a safe space that encourages perspective-shifting and offers the necessary resources to navigate current circumstances. Her approach to counseling is rooted in person-centered practices that emphasize connection, creativity, and positive energy, integrating various modalities including Expressive Arts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Her expertise encompasses a range of issues, including relationship dynamics, anger management, anxiety, substance use issues, trauma, self-esteem, depression, stress management, parenting challenges, and family relationships.
