Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Rockwall, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of pregnant women, new mothers, and young children at risk of nutrition-related illnesses. Our mission is to empower families with essential knowledge on proper nutrition, offering tailored education through individual counseling and group classes, including special sessions for children and support for fathers. WIC promotes the benefits of breastfeeding, providing vital resources such as breast pumps and guidance on managing breastfeeding while balancing work and family activities. Each month, participants receive nutritious food benefits to purchase items like iron-fortified formulas, milk, eggs, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. We also connect clients with additional health and social services to support their overall well-being. Eligibility includes pregnant and recent mothers, as well as parents or caregivers of children under five, with income requirements set at 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Even those employed or having private insurance can apply. Visits are by appointment only, ensuring personalized support for every family that walks through our doors.
