Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Richardson, TX, is dedicated to supporting veterans through agricultural training and community engagement. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. provides a nurturing environment where veterans can reconnect with nature and each other while cultivating crops and caring for animals. Our programs are specifically designed to assist veterans dealing with challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency. Participants engage in peer-to-peer training that helps them rediscover a sense of purpose, with opportunities to join our internship program, Future Farmer Trainees, which includes financial stipends and the possibility of shared housing. While the enrollment for internships is currently paused as we develop new farm locations, we encourage veterans to reach out to learn about upcoming opportunities. Regardless of military discharge status, all veterans are welcome to participate in our services and events. F.A.R.M. collaborates with the VA and other organizations to ensure veterans have access to the necessary support for overcoming dependencies. Our commitment is to empower veterans with hands-on experience in agriculture, leading to potential employment within our programs or at partnered farms, while providing valuable resources for their journey towards reintegration into civilian life.
