The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pharr, TX is dedicated to transforming the food landscape by training and empowering individuals to advocate for a just and sustainable food system. This fellowship offers participants comprehensive organic food system education, enabling them to engage with local communities to grow and distribute diverse crops, facilitate innovative health education, and support school and community gardens. Fellows will learn to elevate food and ecological literacy within schools, bolster farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, and develop strategies to enhance access to healthy foods. Over six months of immersive, hands-on training at our campus, followed by a Community Action Year, participants will collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to put their knowledge into practice, fostering lasting change in the community. Applications are accepted until March each year for the May to October fellowship cycle, ensuring accessibility and opportunity for aspiring advocates in food sustainability.
