Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.), located in Mesquite, TX, is dedicated to helping veterans transition back into civilian life through agriculture and camaraderie. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, our organization creates a supportive environment where veterans can connect with one another while cultivating crops and caring for livestock. We offer programs for veterans facing challenges such as suicidal thoughts, homelessness, and chemical dependency, with a focus on peer-to-peer mentoring and skill development. Participants can explore farming opportunities through our internship program, which provides a stipend and shared housing for eligible veterans. While military discharge status is not a barrier, we encourage veterans from all backgrounds to join our farm community, engage in work days, and benefit from our extensive resources for personal growth and education. As we build new farm locations, we invite interested veterans to reach out to us for updates and future program availability. By supporting veterans in agriculture, we strive to instill a renewed sense of purpose and provide pathways to employment in the farming community.
