Laura Lee Estes

Laura Lee Estes is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Texas, bringing a wealth of academic and practical experience to her practice. She earned a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas, a Master of Art in Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Centre College of Kentucky. Laura has received specialized training in play therapy under the guidance of renowned leaders Garry Landreth and Terry Kottman. Additionally, she is board certified in thanatology, focusing on the studies of death, dying, and bereavement, and has completed further training in play therapy, art therapy, and trauma-informed care. While the majority of Laura's career has been devoted to working with elementary-aged children and their families, she has broadened her focus in recent years to assist individuals of all ages, particularly in areas concerning grief and loss. By integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive Arts, and various therapeutic strategies, Laura creates a safe and nurturing environment for personal exploration of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Beyond her therapy practice, she actively leads community grief support groups and facilitates monthly creativity classes for nonviolent female offenders at the Dallas County Jail. In her personal time, Laura enjoys cherished moments with her family, friends, and rescue dogs.
