The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in League City, TX, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where they can participate in organic food system education, work on diversified crop production, and implement engaging educational sessions. Through collaboration with community partners, Fellows contribute to initiatives such as maintaining school and community gardens, supporting farmers markets, and developing strategies to enhance access to healthy foods. With no tuition fees, the program promotes accessibility and inclusivity. Over a six-month residential study, followed by a Community Action Year, participants not only gain valuable skills but also mentor future cohorts, fostering a network of advocates for sustainable food practices in their communities. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
