Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to empowering veterans in Irving, TX, through hands-on agricultural training and support. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, this organization recognizes the therapeutic value of farming and community, offering a safe environment for veterans dealing with challenges such as suicidal thoughts, homelessness, and substance dependence. Participants engage in farming activities, caring for livestock, and enhancing farm operations, all while forming connections with fellow veterans. F.A.R.M. provides a peer-driven experience where veterans can rediscover purpose and direction in their lives. Through its Future Farmer Trainee internship program, veterans can earn a monthly stipend, gain practical farming experience, and benefit from mentorship, with the goal of securing future employment in agriculture. The organization also assists veterans in accessing treatment resources for substance abuse, fostering a holistic approach to recovery. Although current internship applications are closed as new farm locations are developed, all veterans are welcomed to participate in events and services. Those who meet program requirements receive a completion certificate, aiding their journey towards farming loans and continued career advancement. Join F.A.R.M. to cultivate a brighter future as you grow with us.
