Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.)

Grapevine, TX US
Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Grapevine, TX, is dedicated to supporting veterans in their transition back to civilian life through the healing power of agriculture. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. provides a nurturing environment where veterans can reconnect with themselves and each other while cultivating crops and caring for livestock. We invite veterans who may be facing challenges such as suicidal thoughts, homelessness, or chemical dependency to join our community, where peer support is at the heart of our mission. Our internship program, Future Farmer Trainees, offers veterans hands-on experience in farming, access to mentorship, and a monthly stipend, all while building valuable skills for future employment in agriculture. While our current internship enrollment is on hold as we develop new farm locations, we encourage veterans to reach out for information about upcoming opportunities. No specific military discharge status is required to participate in our workshops and events. We also connect veterans to the appropriate resources for overcoming chemical dependency, ensuring they can engage fully in our programs. Participants leave with a certificate of completion and valuable materials to help them pursue careers in farming, as well as the potential for continued training and employment at our urban farm or partner farms. Together, we cultivate purpose, community, and a path toward a fulfilling future.
