Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.)

Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.), located in Garland, TX, offers a transformative opportunity for veterans through its agriculture-based programs. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. provides a supportive environment where veterans can work the land, cultivate crops, and build lasting connections with fellow service members. Our mission is to assist veterans dealing with challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and substance dependency by fostering a sense of purpose and community in agricultural work. Participants engage in hands-on training and can explore pathways to becoming farmers through our internship program, which includes financial support and potential shared housing. While we do not provide detox services, we connect veterans to necessary treatment resources, allowing them to fully participate in our farming initiatives. Each veteran, regardless of military discharge status, can take part in our programs and events. Participants benefit from valuable resources, mentorship, and the possibility of securing future employment in sustainable agriculture. At the completion of our programs, veterans receive certificates that can assist in farm experience requirements, ensuring they have the support needed for their next steps in civilian life.
