The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Galveston, TX, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates and educators within a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through comprehensive, tuition-free training, we provide Fellows with hands-on experiences in organic food system education. Participants engage in a six-month residential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where they work collaboratively with regional non-profits to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health education sessions, maintain community gardens, and foster both food and ecological literacy in local schools. By supporting farmers markets and developing direct-to-consumer channels, our Fellows play a crucial role in enhancing community access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program typically running from May through October, creating impactful change in communities throughout the region.
