Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Frisco, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of vulnerable groups, focusing on pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and young children at risk for nutrition-related issues. Our mission is to empower mothers with knowledge about optimal nutrition, offering tailored nutrition education, individual counseling, and specialized classes, including those for children. We provide crucial breastfeeding support by equipping mothers with guidance and resources, such as free breast pumps, to ensure a healthy start for their babies. WIC supplies families with monthly benefits to purchase nutritious foods, including iron-fortified infant formula, whole grain cereals, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, and more, specifically designed to meet the dietary needs of different clients. Additionally, we connect families to health and social services to further support their well-being. Eligible participants include pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers with babies under one year, recent mothers, and parents or guardians of children under five, all of whom can apply in person at our local clinic. We strive to make the path to better nutrition accessible for every family in our community.
