Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Desoto, TX, is dedicated to aiding veterans on their journey back to civilian life through agriculture. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. provides a supportive, peer-driven environment where veterans can cultivate crops and care for farm animals while connecting with fellow service members. Our mission focuses on helping those who may be facing challenges such as suicidal thoughts, homelessness, or dependency issues. We offer hands-on training, internship opportunities with stipends ranging from $500 to $1,000, and potential employment on our farms or with partners. Veterans are encouraged to engage in farm activities, regardless of discharge status, while benefiting from mentorship and support in overcoming life transitions. As they progress, participants receive a certificate of completion that can be valuable for future agricultural endeavors. While we assist with connecting veterans to treatment resources, F.A.R.M. does not provide detox services. We are currently expanding our farming locations and invite veterans to reach out for information on programs as they become available. Join us in cultivating a sense of purpose and community through farming.
