Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Cleburne, TX, is dedicated to supporting veterans through agricultural training and community connection. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, the organization provides a nurturing environment for veterans seeking to reintegrate into civilian life, especially those coping with suicidal thoughts, homelessness, or chemical dependency. Participants work collaboratively on the farm, tending to crops and animals while building camaraderie and discovering new purpose. F.A.R.M. offers a peer-to-peer training program where veterans can explore farming as a vocation, with opportunities for internships that include stipends and shared housing. Although our internship applications are currently closed as we expand our facilities, veterans are encouraged to reach out for future information. No prior military discharge status is required to engage in our enriching programs and activities. While F.A.R.M. does not provide detox services, we assist veterans in accessing appropriate treatment through the VA and other channels. Upon completion of the program, participants receive valuable certifications and resources, including access to farming positions at our urban farms or partner locations. Together, we cultivate not only the land but also the potential of every veteran who joins us on this journey.
