Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) in Cedar Hill, TX, is dedicated to helping veterans find a new sense of purpose through agriculture. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. creates a supportive environment where veterans can cultivate crops and livestock while connecting with fellow service members. Our mission is to assist veterans dealing with suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency by engaging them in hands-on farming experiences. Each participant is encouraged to grow alongside others, with opportunities to join our agricultural internship program, Future Farmer Trainees, which offers a monthly stipend and shared housing for selected interns. Although the current enrollment for internships is temporarily closed as we develop new farm locations, veterans from all backgrounds are invited to participate in work days and events. We help navigate treatment options for those struggling with dependency and provide valuable resources, including completion certificates and business handbooks to aid their future farming endeavors. Military discharge status does not hinder participation; all veterans are welcomed with open arms as they work toward reintegration into civilian life and mastery in agriculture.
