Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to supporting veterans in Burleson, TX, through transformative agricultural programs that foster community and purpose. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, F.A.R.M. provides a nurturing environment where veterans can engage with the land and each other, addressing challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency. Our inclusive program welcomes all veterans interested in agriculture, regardless of discharge status, offering training in a peer-to-peer setting that builds camaraderie and skills. Participants are invited to cultivate crops and care for livestock while having the opportunity to pursue internships that include stipends and shared housing. We assist veterans in finding treatment for chemical dependency through partnerships with the VA and provide resources for their journey toward recovery. Upon successful completion of our programs, veterans receive valuable certification recognized for farming loans and can pursue full-time roles on our urban farm or with partner farms. To learn more and stay updated on our evolving opportunities, interested veterans are encouraged to reach out directly. Together, we help veterans rediscover their purpose through agriculture.
