Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Brownsville, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of infants, children, and women during pregnancy and postpartum periods who are at risk for nutrition-related issues. Each month, participating families receive benefits to purchase nutritious foods such as iron-fortified formula, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and other staple items specifically designed to promote healthy growth. We also connect clients with various health and social services for comprehensive support. Eligible individuals include pregnant women, new mothers, and guardians of children under five, with assistance available for those in households earning at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Applications can be made in person at our local clinic in Brownsville, ensuring everyone has access to the vital resources they need for a healthier future.
