Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to supporting veterans in Bedford, TX through agricultural training and community engagement. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, our organization understands the transformative power of connecting with the land and fellow veterans. We provide a nurturing environment for veterans dealing with challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency, inviting them to cultivate crops, care for livestock, and participate in meaningful work alongside their peers. Through our Future Farmer Trainees program, veterans receive valuable mentorship and may qualify for a stipend, along with shared housing opportunities. While our current internship enrollment is paused as we expand our farm locations, we encourage interested veterans to reach out for future program updates. We emphasize inclusivity, welcoming all veterans regardless of discharge status, while guiding those in need towards treatment resources. Participants can earn a certificate of completion to help fulfill farming experience requirements for farming loans, and gain access to job opportunities on our urban farm or affiliated farms. F.A.R.M. stands as a pathway for veterans to reclaim purpose and community through agriculture.
